The Brooks Buford Story
Brooks Buford was born in Montgomery Alabama and raised in Atlanta, Georgia
In what was known as the Buford Triangle…with a raspy southern accent and the intellect of an M.I.T graduate, He has gained a lot of recent exposure as the host of MTV’s “Trailer Fabulous”(named after a song he wrote and is also the show’s theme) where he basically freestyles comedy and generally “f*cks around.”
A man (or mental patient) of many talents he started his career in the spotlight as a rapper/producer in the southern hip hop duo Rehab(Sony Music) basically Atlanta’s
answer to rap/rock that had taken over the globe..The group slaughtered the competition in realness and actual rhyming ability(a first for the genre) and went on to score a top 20 hit on Modern Rock radio with “It Don’t Matter” cultivating a huge following particularly in the south and scanning 250 thousand units with the album “Southern Discomfort(2000)”. The group then parted ways and Brooks signed a deal with Jermaine Dupri at SOSODEF/Arista where he released “Straight Out oF Rehab”in Europe in 2003.The record was set to release in the U.S but did not due to Arista Records going out of business. This cd is still only available overseas
or can be purchased as an import through Amazon.com.
Buford has since been working on the much anticipated “Suspicious Package” completely produced and recorded by himself.
Charismatic, Stylish, and totally hilarious, Buford’s music reflects his personality. He’s a serious artist that doesn’t take himself or the world to seriously and u will find humor even the darkest of his songs. He seems to possess a happy cynicism. He has created a rapidly growing community of like minded music and lifestyle fans that span the globe of which he takes part in on his message board and touring.
He has been called a ghetto redneck, a comedian, a philosopher, a street tech support agent, a rapper, a rocker, a drug addict, a criminal, a mental patient, and just a garden variety maniac but one things for sure is that he is a showman and wherever he pops up you are sure to be entertained! If this is the first time you are hearing about him it definitely won’t be the last. Buford is set to become a household name!
